"I started Pilates Classes with Serap for a few reasons: to relieve some back pain, correct my posture, improve my flexibility and strengthen the core muscles. Thanks to Serap, I think I am improving on all fronts. Regarding the classes, she comes home and I do the class with my wife and daughter. She is able to adapt to our different conditions and each of us can really benefit from the class. As she exercises with us, we understand exactly what we need to do and it keeps the class very dynamic. She will also be very attentive to check that we do the exercises properly and will come to correct us when necessary. My wife has done Pilates for many years with various coaches and she finds Serap’s approach to be the best. Both of us highly recommend her..."

"I would recommend Pilates with Serap in a heartbeat. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and her incredible personality is the reason why I am with her for the third year. Working with Serap over the years has helped me understand my body and to improve my core, posture and the way I move in everyday life...so, no more lower back pain's. Pilates with Serap has definitely become an essential part of my life."
Belgin, Mat Pilates, Ladbroke Grove, London
" I was never the most flexible person but I realised that I was becoming stiffer...
What I like with Serap is that she is always ready to change her lesson plan according to our state of body. Ten years ago I had a vertebractomy so I have restricted action, so she is always ready to find an alternative position that will help me.
I walk to class sometimes with difficulty but so once this is over I am almost ready to fly back to work. I do really love my Thursdays as joining Serap's class is a joy as it has more than one positive result.
As my boss is rarely in London, I do not go to my Pilates class and I am not happy about it. She is currently here so I will be missing a total of 4 classes and cannot wait to go back in a fortnight..."

“Serap has boundless energy that is so uplifting.
With Serap you feel there is an exchange of information - she not only tells you what you should be doing but, more importantly, what you should NOT be doing.
This, combined with her gentle manipulation of your limbs into the correct position, makes sure you connect with parts of your body and their muscles that you have previously taken for granted or have forgotten about.
I really feel Serap’s dedication to helping me get the best out of my class and at the end of my session I feel that I have realigned my body which leaves me much more aware of my posture.”
Yvonne Anderson, Group Reformer ,Shoreditch, London
" My husband has vascular dementia and did not want to go to classes but Serap came to us and she has made a tremendous difference to his life…she cares and seems to judge each time successfully what he can do that day…he ends the session feeling refreshed and alive again as well as keeping him flexible.
For myself I have gardened and done pilates for many years but found Serap’s knowledge of her craft to be superior to anything I had experienced before. She helps with my lower back pain and identified the reasons for it and spotted other weaknesses like my breathing which she is working on…I would recommend her highly to anyone who is thinking to improve their mobility, flexibility and mood. I cannot thank her enough for the effort she puts into her teaching. Her patience and care makes us push onwards with our aims.."

"I had suffered a tear in the left Gluteus Medius muscle & was receiving physiotherapy & was advised by physiotherapist that Pilates would benefit me. I had already in the past done Pilates & liked it.
I also had a compressed fracture of my 12th Thoracic vertebra with back pain. I like Serap's method of teaching because it is a hands on approach and she is very precise and passionate about what she does.
I feel that after a session with her I am much more mobile & feel lighter & some of the back pain eases.
I would advise anyone to work with her and I am sure that they will feel the benefit."

“I'm a Tai Chi and Qigong practitioner and a regular runner. This year I had a series of private and semi-private mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates sessions with Serap in London. What was my experience? At the end of each session I was feeling great and always looking forward to having my next session, so the results were immediate and tangible.
Serap is an amazing, dedicated instructor. She always give 100% and that's exactly what you get out of each session. She listened and paid attention to my needs and developed a programme that was tailored specifically for me, thus delivering maximum efficiency and benefit. Thanks to Pilates and Serap my posture and alignment improved. My Tai Chi and Qigong practise is much better and has improved tremendously. My runnings in the Park are more enjoyable and my knees don't bother me anymore. The flexibility and range of motion in my body has increased and overall I feel much better. I'm still a work in progress and I look forward to having more sessions next year.
Happy New Year Serap and thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication.
All the best in.”

“I'm not the type that does regular exercises but I've always like yoga and Pilates. I like the aspect that it focuses on breathing while you do different poses posture is important as many back pains originate from that. And as a woman
strengthen your core is also beneficial if you want to give birth (I was told!). I really enjoy going to Serap's class as again because I'm not a huge exercise fan hence I'm quite picky. I know I need a coach and discipline because no exercise will be done if I'm left on my own device! Serap's way of teaching makes people feel comfortable and welcomed and not intrusive nor aggressive. You might get corrected in terms of posture because that can do damage but she understands everyone's limit is different hence I just slowly adjust to do more when I can. I'm proud of being able to stick to my weekly lessons for over 6 months now and I'm even enjoying it more and more. I'm slowly feeling I can do more and better on some of the challenging poses. And after the class I feel a lighter sensation when I walk out. I believe how much effort you put in is link to how much result you get but having a good instructor is also a big part of the success and even better when she is friendly and can have a laugh and make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. ”

“I have always had issues with my lower back after a bad horse-riding accident when I was 15, and have had various degrees of pain, and stiffness ever since. Last year, at age 28, I damaged my back again, suffering from two prolapsed discs. I couldn't do any form of exercise (or even bend!) for around 5 months. Once the inflammation went down and after a course of physiotherapy, I decided to try out Pilates for the first time to strength my core, reduce the pain in my back and help get back into fitness.
I've only attended 5 sessions with Serap, but the difference so far has been incredible. Serap is a highly attentive and focused expert instructor, who is clearly deeply knowledgeable about Pilates and experienced in helping those with back pain. She is keen to help you practice correct posture and to help you progress at the right pace to strengthen your body and minimize back issues. Serap's expertise is not contained within just the Pilates lesson, as she ensures your focus on maintaining correct posture throughout your working week and always asks questions to monitor your progress / increase and decreases in pain and core strength throughout the week.
Serap keeps each session fresh, and ensures equal focus all on all the muscle groups, and makes sure you experience a wide range of Pilates moves. She is very clear in her instruction so you always know exactly what to do.
After 5 sessions under Serap's instruction, I could bend over and stand upright again with no pain in my lower back - for the first time in over half a year! This is an absolutely fantastic result for me as I thought, after the second time I hurt my back, that I would not have a full range of movement in my back ever again. I feel incredibly lucky to have found Serap!
If you are looking for a highly experienced and skilled instructor, who will offer a personalized Pilates plan, to help remedy back pain, or even just to strengthen your muscles and better your posture, I highly recommend Serap! I continue to be impressed with Serap's skill, and extremely happy with my progress. I look forward to working with Serap for years to come!”

"I have an office job and mostly sitting on a chair all day long. Few years ago I started to have back pain problems and affected me really badly. So I started searching for pilates classes.
After trying different pilates lessons I started attending Serap’s lessons 2 years ago. Even after first lesson I felt great. The most important thing is she really enjoys teaching pilates and always helpful, understanding, kind and always smiles. Serap is also very good at explaining when to inhale and exhale which was very confusing for me before but with her everything is clear. Serap also makes sure in every lesson that we breathe in and out correctly. The other point is that she gives individual attention to the people in her class and asks if anybody has any physical issues so that she can show different exercises accordingly.
Amazingly I feel more flexible, I do not have back problem anymore. I am still attending Serap’s classes regularly every week and each time I feel like I am recharged, physically opened up and also my posture gets better after every exercise.
Working with Serap is very successful for me as I feel very happy, fit, relaxed, more toned and stronger. Plus it is a joy to see her smiley face as well because she is happy when she sees that we are happy with the exercises.
I would strongly recommend working with Serap and I have been already referring her some of my friends. After one lesson they decided to carry on with her lessons. Serap is always very attentive, caring, straight to the point, very helpful and to sum up she is brilliant. I am very lucky to have known her and will carry on working with her. I cannot thank her enough for fixing my back."
Cigdem Geldican, Mat Pilates, London Bridge, London
“I started taking Pilates classes as I noticed my muscles didn't have much strength and flexibility. Serap's classes were exactly what I needed, she gradually increased the difficulty and intensity of our classes as we improved and I noticed I was making improvements within the first few lessons! Serap provides the perfect atmosphere to learn, challenging you to push yourself further with each lesson whilst also making sure that you don't hurt yourself. After classes I always feel as relaxed as I would after an hour long massage!
I highly recommend them! ”

"Serap is not only a great Pilates teacher but a very nice person too. I have been extremely ill and Serap has treated me with a great deal of sensitivity and care effectively keeping me mobile throughout the illness. Serap has a holistic style and I always feel relaxed and calm after our sessions, as well as stretched and exercised. I would highly recommend her."
Emma, Equipment Pilates, Clapham Junction, London
“I was lucky enough to have Serap take a reformer class at a studio I am a member of. I’d been looking for a good core strength class to help tackle a dancing-related lower back problem and found Serap adaptable and supportive. I went on to book a one-to-one session to focus on my specific issue and Serap took me through an hour of challenging yet manageable mat based moves and I came away with 5 to do on my own. I now do her weekly class at London Bridge, which I’d highly recommend, and as a result I’m a lot stronger and my back is gradually improving.
Serap is warm and attentive and her teaching style is encouraging and flexible so that everyone gets a good workout but in a very enjoyable, inclusive class”

"I have been looking for a fun and effective physical activity for general fitness, but also for easing the continuous knee-ache i have had due to a past horse-riding accident.
I have worked with 6 different Pilates teachers. I liked Pilates generally but some of the exercises were hard and boring. When I met Serap, everything changed. Some of the exercises I had difficulty with became no longer a problem because her instructions were so clear and she saw what I was doing wrong so quickly.
I am amazed how beautifully she tuned in with us individually in a class of 10. Every time she intuitively understands the level and the mood of the class and adapts the speed and the intensity accordingly. She is very good fun but at the same time quite firm with us and the time always passes very quickly.
After a few months with her, my knee-ache disappeared because I learned to use my legs (and the whole of my body) in the right way. My posture now is much more upright which came to me so naturally and effortlessly. My tummy and my back feels much stronger and my general fitness is at its best ever!
Pilates with Serap is a real pleasure and I recommend her to anyone unquestionably. Even in doubt at the beginning, I strongly suggest to try out her classes for a few times. I have no doubt that tangible differences would be noticed even after a few weeks."
Yeshim Harris, Mat and Equipment Pilates, Paddington, London
"After being advised by my physio to start taking pilates classes I tried several different ones before deciding to stick with Serap. Aside from her warm and friendly manner, the classes have been amazing. My old lower back injury which kept flaring up is now in check, and I feel stronger with every weekly class. She has helped me to find exercises I can practice at home and always makes sure we have a good stretch or massage (with the roller) if it's been a particularly hard class. With subtle differences each week, it means that you don't get tired of the same exercises and continue to learn about how the body works and all fits together. I would (and have) happily recommend her to friends."
Kate Parker, Mat Pilates, London Bridge, London

"I was feeling the effects of ageing into my mid fifties as someone who has done little exercise in her life and knowing it was imperative that I take action if I want to age healthily. Serap’s gentle but powerful introduction into the world of self-care through exercise could not have been a better choice.
I love Serap’s approach because she draws from a variety of methods and instinctively knows what works for each individual.
My posture has begun to correct itself and I feel strength in my core that I have not felt since I was a young woman. The classes always put a spring in my step. And I get nice comments about my bum now : )
In Serap’s company one feels she was born to teach Pilates. It’s reflected in both her innate skill as a teacher and in her passion for her subject. And it’s also fun!"
Jenny, Mat Pilates, Turnham Green, London
"I didn't seek Pilates I'd never heard of it -in fact I started by winning some lessons on the tombola -this was years ago which allows me to remark with a little experience.
I have been taught in various studios I noted that they vary in how they interpret the founder's methods. The majority teach by repetition so you can find yourself doing the same thing week after week. Firstly this is a bit monotonous and secondly may be counter productive.
Serap is quite different ! After a warm hello she asks you "how is your body" after you check its still all in one piece ,you find yourself explaining that you have an ache here, a strain there ,then Serap sets you closely monitored exercises to countract your problem, a all the time not losing sight of the founder's principles of core strength and flexibility.
So that working with Serap ,is great for mind and body ,not only that but after an hour with Serap I feel spiritually uplifted ,not forgetting that she has a great sense of humour . If you'r on the fence get off and come to Serap ,you will walk straight, feel stronger, look younger and you will honestly feel so much better about yourself."
Michael Brown, Equiment Pilates, Clapham Junction, London.
"I cannot recommend Serap highly enough.
When I fell pregnant, a close friend mentioned that would be a good idea to try out a pregnancy Pilates. I was very hesitant as I was not very fit or flexible and was not into exercise I started taking Pilates classes. When I was pregnant and at a time when I really needed to taking care of my body. Serap’s skill, dedication and passion as a Pilates instructor enabled me to do just that. Through a combination of her extensive knowledge of both Pilates and the body, Serap was able to identify specific areas for me to focus on and also ensure that I used appropriate modifications for certain exercises.
By taking regular classes and applying the techniques recommended by Serap, I have seen significant improvements in how my body feels within a very short time, it also has improved my posture and after 2 children, my lower tummy has finally tightened up!
Serap is a brilliant instructor, very encouraging and fun.
It has been a very positive and beneficial experience for me and I would highly recommend Pilates with Serap!"
M Albertyn, Mat Pilates, Southfield, London.
"I started pilates classes to try to get fit... I was attending Zumba classes and needed a more relaxed work out however I was very surprised that although pilates is a lot more soft paced it is not an easy exercise to learn.
I found that since going to Serap's lessons I have learnt how to breathe and as a result have a lot more energy.
Your instructions in class are very clear, and your explanations are super. You go above and beyond and try to make us understand about our spine and body and how to connect with it.. however this I still find difficult to do after 1 1/2 years of attending. This is no fault of yours but mine entirely as I still find it difficult to connect with my body and
get it to do what I want it to do rather than what it wants to do!!
Since finding out that my lower back at the bottom of my spine has a lot of wear and tear I am more determined to try to connect with my body through my breathing and try to get the exercises that you teach to benefit my body. Each week I look forward to our work out and hope that you do not want to leave our classes.
I enjoy every class and in each one you bring something new and teach us different ways of getting in shape and using our bodies to work with our minds.
I thank you sincerely for your efforts and your patience and hope that you continue to teach our classes for many more years to come.
Lots of love and best wishes."

"The key to a great Pilates lesson is the instructor, who understands what you are seeking to achieve and works with you to strengthen your core. Serap does this and more - she takes time to work with the individual and to tailor the programme/ exercises for them. I find the stresses of the week are taken away, I get a good work out and what's more I enjoy it. I would thoroughly recommend her."
Siobhan Boylan, Equipment Pilates, Paddington, London.
"The first time I had ever taken reformer pilates was with Serap, and I have been hooked ever since.
Serap is intuitive, knowledgable and full of positive energy. I always look forward to taking a class with her. She is attentive and helps correct you if you're not receiving the full benefit of the movement. I always feel physically energized and mentally relaxed after her class. She is supportive, encouraging and hands down my favorite pilates teacher. I highly recommend taking a class with her!"
Natalie G, Equipment Pilates, Shoreditch, London
"Dear Fans of Yoga and Pilates,
I am writing a brief testimony regards to Serap's work as it changed my life significantly.
A few years ago I moved over UK and I started as a nanny, which as you know is tough work. Since then my lower back pain become unbearable and I was not able to sleep and walk most of the time without having this pain. However later one I become a receptionist and I was back to my previous life which means full time occupation desk. As you know this type of job also courses similar issues, so the pain was just living with me. Suddenly Serap came across to my life and somehow convinced me to try her Pilates Mat Classes, which I did and guess what?! After only 6 sessions the result was No pain and I could not believe that is true and every moment was expecting the pain to come back, but it did not.
My personal point of view is do not ignore your bodies needs just try ones and you will absolutely love it as same way as your body will.
Best "
Ady, Mat Pilates, Ladbroke Grove, London.
"I would definitely recommend people to work with you, Serap. I very much like the fact that you gradually increase the work I do so it¹s not just straight repetition and I can definitely feel improved strength and flexibility. As one gets older it is so important to keep as much physical fitness as possible and I also find the sessions invigorating and enjoyable."

" I took up Pilates, after having recovered from a knee operation with physiotherapy sessions at Sprint, realizing that I needed to get in touch with 'the body’. Working with Serap has helped me to find and get moving all those hidden muscles that have been lying dormant. With her calm, caring but firm method of working and especially in keeping the exercises interesting and challenging, I feel I’m becoming friends with my body for the first time. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an in-depth Pilates teacher.”
Sarah Janson, Post Clinical Pilates, High Street Kensington, London
One of my 84 years old client started with me first time practicing Pilates last year says,
" Sessions I've had with you have been really helped my arthritis . I originally came to see Sophie and she recommended that I should work with you. Also the doctor I saw about my knee said I should strengthen the muscles around my knees and working with you has really helped. I no longer have knee pains."
Joan Hampson, Post clinical Pilates, High Street Kensington, London
" I suffered from tight back and shoulders from desk-based job. Was also about to turn 40 – felt I needed to start doing some toning and strengthening exercises. Have now been going for over 5 years and really feeling and seeing the benefits.
A Pilates session with Serap always leaves me feeling uplifted – both physically and mentally. I come out of a class feeling stretched, toned, invigorated and mentally recharged. She has an amazing ability to “read” where someone is at and tailor her approach accordingly – not only in terms of the physical exercises but also teaching style.
The two most significant improvements I achieve doing Pilates is improving balance and energy-both mental and physical level.
I found quality and knowledge of Serap's Pilates teaching and way that she makes you feel good about yourself. Highly recommend.
